From one person's inbox to a portal for 500 members
The association of professional staff of Chile's Labour Directorate ran its member benefits over email. Today it runs on a portal of its own, built and operated by Tesseract on Praxsuite.
Where they started
APU brings together close to 500 professionals of Chile's Labour Directorate and has been around for 30 years. Gas orders, property rentals and meetings with regional representatives all went through one person's inbox.
It worked, but it was slow, it depended on that person being available, and nobody could see the full picture.
What we built together
A members' portal with five modules: group gas orders that close themselves, property rentals with a real availability calendar, meetings with representatives, a video tutorial library and an assessment module.
Praxsuite is the whole backend: the data, the members' permissions, the forms, the automations and the API. The APU team runs it without touching code.
The module nobody expected
To be promoted at the Labour Directorate, staff sit a tough exam on labour law. APU asked us for a way to practise inside the portal. It became the most used module: 19 practice exams loaded and 745 attempts recorded.
Still growing
The public website is now edited from the same workspace, thanks to a team of Universidad Andrés Bello students working with us. And the work keeps going: the latest round of improvements to the gas module shipped in September 2026.
